The assessment that unlocks every skilled visa.

A positive skills assessment confirms that your qualifications and experience meet the Australian standard for your nominated occupation. It is a prerequisite for GSM and most employer sponsored visas — and it must be valid when you are invited.

Choosing the wrong authority, or submitting incomplete evidence, is one of the most common and costly early mistakes. We confirm the correct body, structure your documentation, and present your case to give it the best chance of a positive outcome.

Skills assessment questions

How do I know which authority assesses my occupation?+
Every occupation on the skilled lists is tied to a specific assessing authority. We confirm the correct body for your exact occupation code before you begin — choosing the wrong one wastes time and money.
How long is a skills assessment valid?+
Validity varies by authority, but most assessments are valid for a set period (commonly up to three years). Your assessment must be valid at the time you are invited to apply, so timing is part of the strategy we manage.
Can my work experience be assessed even without a degree?+
In many cases, yes. Several authorities — particularly for trades and certain professional occupations — recognise skilled work experience and vocational qualifications. The right pathway depends on your occupation and evidence.
What happens after a positive assessment?+
A positive assessment lets you claim points for your skilled occupation and lodge an Expression of Interest for GSM, or proceed with an employer sponsored application. We move directly into your visa strategy from there.
